Reds Community Fund/RSC 2012 Cheviot Memorial Field Grandstand Project
Ray St. Clair Roofing had the opportunity to support the west side Cincinnati Community this summer by partnering with The Reds Community Fund and Procter & Gamble (P&G) as Cheviot Memorial Field had been selected as the winner of the second annual Home Field Makeover contest.
As the winner, the City of Cheviot and Cheviot Memorial Field received a complete field renovation underwritten by the Reds Community Fund, P&G and Ray St. Clair Roofing. Ray St. Clair employees single handedly provided the labor to tear off, replace the wood surface to many parts of the 1930’s grandstand, and re-roof the entire 3780 sq ft. roof area this summer.
With the help of Corken Steel and Metal Sales Manufacturing, Ray St. Clair Roofing was able to provide a new metal roof for this facility that should last a life time.
This was the second field project that RSC participated in this summer along side Joe Nuxhall’s family and the many others who helped make Joe’s dream a reality at the Joe Nuxhall Miracle League Fields located in the city of Fairfield—Joe's old stomping grounds as well as home to RSC. This field is located at Hatton Park on Groh Lane.
The field’s dedication came on Joe’s 68th anniversary of “pitching his first game for the Cincinnati Reds” when he was only 15 years old—the youngest ever to pitch in a major league game.
Kim Nuxhall thanked the many companies and individuals who donated their time and services to a tune of more than $2.1 million dollars to help make Joe’s dream come true.
